Unicoi Systems Releases Fusion SIP 4.0 for Embedded Development

New SIP Stack Has Significant RFC Compliant Features

Generic Unicoi IconATLANTA, GEORGIA – April 27, 2005 – Unicoi Systems today announced the 4.0 release of the Fusion Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) software. Unicoi’s C-based SIP software is lightweight, transport-independent and optimized for embedded devices. Customers deploying the Fusion SIP stack will reduce their overall cost of deployment, in addition to reducing their time to market. While the Fusion SIP software is ground-breaking in feature deployment alone, the Fusion SIP stack used in the other Fusion VoIP products, combined with the full suite of Fusion software will change the landscape of intelligent devices.

“With SIP being widely regarded as the industry standard, and VoIP being mission critical to anyone in the telephony world, we felt that a feature rich, functionality-pushing Fusion SIP stack is what’s needed next,” said Greg Coonley, CEO of Unicoi. “The Fusion SIP stack is a tested and true software option that still pushes the very boundaries of programming. Fusion SIP is extraordinary because even though it can work with other software components, it is fully integrated with the Fusion suite of software products. It is the right choice in VoIP development, especially for someone wanting to quickly go to market.”

Connectivity is an important differentiator for Fusion software. The Fusion SIP stack is integrated with the entire Fusion line of software products; it is also ported to Linux and WIN32 platforms. The smarter, smaller and more efficient Fusion SIP software also contains more functionality than most stacks on the market.

Fusion SIP software supports the following SIP RFC’s:

  • RFC 2327 (Session Description Protocol)
  • RFC 2617 (Basic and Digest Authentication)
  • RFC 2976 (Info Method)
  • RFC 3261 (SIP Version 2)
  • RFC 3262 (Reliability of Provisional Responses in SIP)
  • RFC 3263 (Locating SIP Servers)
  • RFC 3264 (Offer/Answer Model with SDP)
  • RFC 3265 (Specific Event Notification)
  • RFC 3420 (Internet Media Type message/sipfrag)
  • RFC 3428 (Extensions for instant messaging)
  • RFC 3420 (Internet Media Type message/sipfrag)
  • RFC 3489 (STUN Simple traversal of user datagrams)
  • RFC 3515 (Refer method)
  • RFC 3856 (A presence Event Package for SIP)
  • RFC 3857 (A Watcher Information Event Template Package for SIP)
  • RFC 3858 (An XML Based Format for Watcher Information)
  • RFC 3863 (A Presence information data format)
  • IPV6 Ready

The Fusion SIP is currently available stand alone or in Unicoi’s VoIP reference design.
