The VoIP Information Subsystem consists of the following items:
- Remote/local initiated firmware upgrades
- Web Server + I/O Manager
- Telnet Server
Remote/Local initiated Firmware Upgrades
All Unicoi reference designs include software functionality to allow the core processor’s firmware to be updated either locally or remotely. Two firmware images are stored in memory and error checking mechanisms are implemented to insure that there is always a functional firmware image.
Web Server + I/O Manager
A web-based configuration module is included with all Unicoi reference designs. A built-in web server handles all the configuration interaction by serving dynamic pages and processing updates which are submitted. The web server’s customizable processing functions integrate via a simple API with a configuration subsystem which provides a layer of abstraction between the web server and any component that uses a configuration setting. This allows for the web server content to be easily and confidently modified so a customer can deliver their own unique customized look-and-feel for their device.

Telnet Server
The built-in Telnet Server allows for configurations to be modified via an Ethernet or serial port connection. This interface provides a text-based user interface that can be used when the web interface is not appropriate or unavailable.
