Year 3 of IPv6 Phase-2ATLANTA, GEORGIA – January 24, 2011– Unicoi Systems, Inc. (Unicoi), a leading provider of Voice over IP (VoIP) solutions to the embedded device market, announces support for iLBC (internet Low Bitrate Codec) within the Fusion Voice Engine

Greg Coonley, CEO and founder of Unicoi Systems, said, “Unicoi is a market-driven VoIP solutions provider, so we are pleased to offer support for iLBC. Developers in many industries can benefit from Unicoi’s experience in VoIP combined with the bandwidth and cost advantages of iLBC.”

The Fusion Voice Engine is a comprehensive software suite consisting of an extensive set of algorithms and codecs designed to allow application developers, service providers and hardware manufacturers to easily build VoIP or Radio over IP (RoIP) technology into their solutions. The Fusion Voice Engine includes a high level API to easily manage analog channels, digital channels and mixers. Its extensible plug-in architecture allows developers to easily add custom codecs and/or proprietary echo cancellation components. In addition, it is designed to support a wide range of sampling rates: 8kHz (Narrow Band Audio), 16kHz (HD Audio), 32kHz (Ultra-HD Audio) and 48kHz (CD Audio).

About iLBC

iLBC is a royalty-free voice codec providing robust voice communication over IP and is now part of the fully-integrated, modular Fusion Voice Engine suite of codecs, algorithms, and critical voice services. The codec is designed for narrowband speech and boasts superior packet loss robustness over other low-bandwidth codecs by enabling graceful speech quality degradation to compensate for lost or delayed packets. This makes iLBC a great choice for voice calls over the Internet, particularly cellular 3G networks.
