Greg Coonley, Chief Executive Officer
Greg is responsible for technological direction and day-to-day management of Unicoi Systems. He launched
the company in 2002, and has led Unicoi to a preeminent position in the embedded software industry. Prior
to joining Unicoi, Greg held senior management positions at Home Wireless Networks. Greg holds a computer
engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Greg has been in the embedded software field
since 1989 and has been the CEO of Unicoi since its inception. Since 1995 he has managed or led groups of
software/hardware engineers on multiple projects. At Motorola, he was a Systems Architect and Software Manager
for paging products. He went on to hold various engineering leadership roles while working for Home Wireless
Networks. Greg is also the chief architect of the Fusion Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) at Unicoi.
Simon van Roosendaal, Chairman
Simon van Roosendaal is responsible for the overall strategic direction, growth and management of Unicoi
Systems. Along with Greg Coonley, Simon launched the company in 2002. Simon has more than 20 years of
industry experience including Chief Operating Officer of ZapMedia Inc; President of S1 (Asia Pacific) and
SVP Operations of S1 (Americas), where he grew the business unit from a base of 50 people and $15 million
in revenue, to more than 400 people and revenues in excess of $100 million in under 3 years. Simon holds a
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Melbourne. Prior to joining Unicoi, Simon founded
Blue Dingo Services, Inc. and was an executive with ZapMedia.
Scott Simmons, Vice President, Business Strategy
Scott is responsible for evaluating and establishing relationships with strategic technology partners and
for sales in EMEA and eastern United States. Scott helped to launch the company back in 2002,
and had been an advisor to the company, until assuming his current role in 2006. Prior to Unicoi, Scott
held senior technical roles with Panasonic and BellSouth. Scott holds a Bachelor's
Degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's
Degree in Mathematics from North Georgia College & State University.
