JOB DESCRIPTION –Low-Level Firmware Embedded Engineer

Unicoi Systems, a leading embedded software company headquartered in North Atlanta, is currently seeking two Embedded Engineer candidates—one mid-to-junior level and one senior level—for implementing firmware on an embedded device. A hot project is requiring us to staff up with experienced engineers who can be productive very quickly.

This is a software engineering position; experience in creating brand new software from a given specification is a MUST. A skills assessment will be given as part of the interview process.

This is not in any way, shape, or form an IT position!

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering. Computer Science degrees only with significant embedded software experience.
  
• 2-10 years relevant experience with emphasis on software development

Required Skills:

• 2-10 years active software development in C/C++. Ideally you are a master of specifically C and understand the pitfalls of this language and know the techniques required to produce robust, fast, and secure code.
  
• Experience in dealing with embedded systems (e.g. development using an RTOS, understand interrupt-level coding, debugging and coding in assembly language, using a JTAG, dealing with minimal resources, etc.)
• Low-Level firmware creation on embedded systems with experience in developing hardware drivers.

Desired Skills:

• Low-Level USB Experience, i.e. driver or stack implementation
  
• Low-Level file system experience, i.e. FAT16/32, CIFS, etc.
  
• Low-Level storage driver experience, especially with NAND Flash memory driver implementations
  
• Low-Level graphics video driver experience
  
• General multimedia subsystem experience, e.g. audio/video codecs, interface with graphics driver, etc.
