Unicoi Systems Releases Fusion SIP 5.1

Fusion Session Initiation Protocol Support for RFC 3581 and RFC 4028

IPv6 Phase-2ATLANTA, GEORGIA – March 15, 2010 – Unicoi Systems (Unicoi) is proud to announce the release of Fusion SIP version 5.1 in support of secure VoIP telephony and intercommunications equipment developers. With this release, Fusion SIP provides updated support for NAT Traversal (RFC 3581) and Session Timers (RFC 4028), along with numerous improvements to the Fusion SIP code base.

“Unicoi Systems is growing rapidly in the fields of VoIP telephony and IP-based interoperable intercommunications, where maintaining relevant RFC support is essential. Beyond supporting the RFCs demanded by the VoIP market, we continue to improve the maintainability of Fusion SIP, while reducing the application’s code size.” said Greg Coonley, Unicoi’s Chief Executive Officer.

SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is one of the signaling protocols most commonly used in VoIP telephony and intercommunications. Session Timers is an extension of SIP, particularly important to VoIP sessions over UDP, which terminates a VoIP session when a receiving asset becomes unresponsive. NAT Traversal provides the means by which a SIP proxy server can inform a SIP client of the IP address and port number from which a message was received, thereby allowing the SIP client to provide its global contact information to other SIP clients. Fusion SIP 5.1 provides full support for RFC 3581 and RFC 4028, as part of Unicoi’s dedication to providing embedded developers with the most valuable RFC specifications.
