Open Position: Software Engineer II
Windows® CE Engineer
Unicoi Systems, a leading embedded software company headquartered in North Atlanta, is currently seeking a junior -to- mid level Embedded Engineer candidate for with a strong focus on Windows CE, ideally writing device drivers and/or optimizing the performance of multi-threaded applications.
The qualified applicant should have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited educational institution; a Master’s degree is preferred.
Also highly preferred is experience with cross-platform development, debugging and test tools, and developing networking drivers for NDIS and/or other platforms.
This is a software engineering position; experience in creating brand new software from a given specification is a MUST. A skills assessment will be given as part of the interview process. This is not in any way, shape, or form an IT position!
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering. Computer Science degrees only with significant embedded software experience.
- 2-10 years relevant experience with emphasis on software development
Required Skills
- Extremely proficient in the C Programming Language
- Experience creating low-level networking drivers, preferably under NDIS
- Windows CE Development
- Networking & protocols (802.11, Ethernet, TCP/IP)
- Ability to develop new code as well as analyze and understand existing code.
Desired Skills
- Possess an understanding of CPU and memory architectures; I/O and peripherals; networking (wired and wireless); security and encryption; and multimedia standards.
- Self-starter with ability to multi-task
- Ability to prioritize and deliver applications according to stated deadlines and quality guidelines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent analytical and “problem solving skills”
- Organized and detail oriented
- Exceptional verbal and written communications and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
- Must be able to travel in a limited basis.
- Ability to take on other duties as assigned
